KEEP THE ORCHIDS OUTSIDE A BIT LONGER

I went to tour a wonderful, greenhouse FULL of orchids yesterday! Orchids are a hobby of this gentleman (who is a pharmacist when he isn't working on his "hobby"). I was thoroughly impressed. It is truly a labor of love.

The major piece of information I took out of this visit was that I need to leave my orchids outside until the temperature drops as low as 32 degrees. THEN I can bring them into the house. It seems they need the shock to help them set their flowering spikes. As soon as I came home, outside they went again. Let's see what happens!
Here's a web-site that will give you quite a bit of information. It will also allow you to sign up for an email newsletter on orchids.
