Garden Harvest Festival

I received this in an email and it looked so good, I thought I'd post it. I hope some of you might be close enough to take advantage of it!

Garden Harvest Festival at Strawbery Banke
Museum ~ September 16 & 17
Join us for a weekend long celebration of Garden History at
Strawbery Banke Museum. Come spend a day exploring the gardens recently
voted among the ‘Top 10 Favorite Public Gardens’. Visit our period
homes and kitchens decked out with spectacular flower arrangements made
by the regions finest garden clubs. Enjoy talk s and workshops with some
of our nations top gardening celebrities including; Paul Tukey of People,
Places and Plants, Tovah Martin from Horticulture Magazine, Marge Bruchac
a Native Abenaki Herbalist and Storyteller, Judith Sumner – Author of
‘American Household Botany’ and 'A Natural History of Medicinal
Botany, Ben Watson author of 'Heirloom Plants' and 'Cider' , talks
on Herbalism & Heirloom plants with John Forti, workshops with Deb
Friedman Foodways Historian, and kid focused garden fun around the museum
including Tracey Kane - Fairy House series author.
Take a day and explore a range of activities including Herbalism workshops
by members of the Herb Society of America, Apple cider pressing from our
own heritage orchards, garden tours exploring four centuries of New
England Garden History, flower arranging, and a
'Slow-Food' heirloom/heritage apple tasting. In addition there will be
music and dance performances in the period garden s and fun wherever you
go as you visit our beautiful late summer gardens.
For those interested in taking home a piece of the past, perennial herbs,
heirloom seeds, and native plants will be available.
